Derek is our star for this edition of the kids’ newsletter. Derek is 9 and is in 3rd grade. Ryan (6), Meghan (3) and Sophia (10 months) are his brother and sisters. His dad works for Midwest Airlines, while his mom takes care of the kids. Derek also has two cats named Lincoln and Skeeter.

Derek likes to read and play piano, his favorite food is macaroni and cheese, his favorite TV show is “Cyberspace,” and his favorite book is “Calvin and Hobbs.” Derek likes building models, and he likes playing baseball. When he grows up, Derek wants to be a pilot where he’ll see the wide open spaces in the sky.

Derek’s most memorable experience was when his brother fell off his bike and Derek jumped off his bike to help him. Derek says he likes doing that kind of thing.

Derek’s favorite Bible verse is John 3:16, and his Bible hero is Matthew. Derek received Jesus as his Savior at Ranger Camp, and God is helping him learn piano. Derek likes the games and puppet ministry here at church. Derek wants to share with you that “Everyone is different. God made us all, so we need to love one another.”
